About us

What is Sea Scouts?

Sea Scouts, BSA is a co-ed youth boating program where teens can go sailing, learn marine engineering, make new friends, and have fun!

Who can join?

A youth must be 13 years of age and graduated from the eighth grade or be 14 to join Sea Scouts. You can stay in Sea Scouts until you are 21 years of age.

What's in it for me?

You can learn to sail, to row, and how to keep a boat in shape; you can cruise on local waters or go sailing far from home. You can learn how to save lives on and in the water. But most importantly, you'll be active in camping, social events, tours and excursions.

Why should I join?

ADVENTURE -

Whether it's a weekend outing or a week long cruise, Sea Scouts provides the opportunity to make lifelong memories on and off the water!

SERVICE -

Sea Scouts will learn to effectively lead others while having plenty of opportunities to serve their community, nation, and fellow Scouts.

FRIENDSHIP -

When asked, most Sea Scouts say the best part of Sea Scouting was the friend they made, from crew mates they saw regularly, to competitors from rendezvous, to foreign Scouts they met at regattas.

FUTURE -

No matter a Sea Scouts draw to the water, a future career in the military, the marine industry, or a lifelong hobby, Sea Scouting will provide them the opportunity to choose their path and forge their future.
